We had a wonderful time in Colorado at a family reunion and memorial for Stacey’s nana (Virginia Ryan), and then headed back to California for some interesting changes . . .

TJ flew up to Seattle to interview for a “stationary” job, which was offered to him on the spot. We decided to accept, and so off we went planning this new twist!

So, our “new plan” has been in effect since early July. We’ve decided to stay in the Seattle area for a while! We were in the Northwest last year for three-plus months, and now we’re here again. With continued freelance work and TJ’s salaried job, this will allow us to pay off some remaining debt, save a bit, and continue to explore the Northwest: hike more trails on Mt. Rainier, get back to Olympic and North Cascades National Parks, the Canadian Rockies, and San Juan Island. We’d like to learn to sail while up here . . . so maybe our next leg will be as live-aboards on a little sailboat!

Our adventure sure has taken its latest turn. When we really think about it, our decision to move to Seattle reflects our chosen lifestyle. Living a life of simplicity and flexibility gives us the freedom to follow our current interests and passions. How exciting is that!

This last month has been a bit of a blur—one that we’re now just beginning to fully digest. More to come soon with tales of how we arrived here and how we’re adjusting!
